With global exposure and international distribution, JBL offers speakers and audio accessories for home, car, and marine as well as for computers, game consoles, MP3 players, and iPods.
Challenge
When JBL approached Griffin International, they had minimal presence at the retailer level. JBL’s sales initiative was becoming segmented across the United States with individual sales teams focused more on hard selling than on maintaining the quality the JBL brand identity was known for. As a result, sales slowed and retailer distribution was slimming.
Solution
Based on our well-maintained relationships with the top retailers in the U.S., Griffin International consolidated JBL’s existing sales reps into a single sales force with us at the helm. Along with shaping up the sales efforts, we provided assistance with logistics and forecasting, retail packaging and displays, and product marketing.
Results
In less than a year, Griffin International was able to double JBL’s business with core retail accounts and managed to attain distribution on previously impenetrable shelves. Our solution gave them a larger retail presence with more products across more retailers throughout the U.S. In addition, we streamlined their product packaging to allow for more down-stocking and sales at retail.
